Mason Wilfong Kotka Eaglesiin kaudelle 2023

🇫🇮: Kotka Eagles on signannut ensimmäisen amerikkalaisvahvistuksen Mason Wilfongin.

Mason on pelannut GFL:n lisäksi yliopistossa Southern Illinois Universityssa ja Florida Techissa.

190cm pitkä ja 102kg painava Mason tulee vahvistamaan Eaglesin laitahyökkääjäosastoa ja antaa pelinrakentaja Nesi Carpelanille ison targetin kesäksi.

Nesi Carpelan: ”Kun alettiin etsimään meille vahvistusta hyökkäyksen puolelle oli minulla toiveena saada heittojen kohteeksi iso, ulottuva ja varmakätinen laitahyökkääjä. 🇺🇸: Kotka Eagles has signed their first american import Mason Wilfong.

In addition to the GFL, Mason has played in college at Southern Illinois University and Florida Tech.

Standing 6’3″ tall and weighing 225 lb Mason will bring a big target to our quarterback Nesi Carpelan.

We asked the coaching staff a few questions about Masons signing:
Nesi Carpelan: ”When we started looking for imports on the offensive side, I was hoping to have a big, versatile and sure-handed receiver as a target. Mason perfectly fulfills all these points and based on the discussions we have had, I believe that he is just the right guy for our team. Welcome to Kotka Mason!”

How are you feeling now that you’ve signed with the Eagles?

• I feel great I’m excited and thankful for the opportunity, and ready to get back onto the field with my new teammates and coaches.

Tell us about your football history? Where have you played and what are your biggest accomplishments in football?

• I’ve been playing the game since I was 6 years old growing up in Florida. I had a good high school career that earned me a full ride scholarship to:
  Southern Illinois University(Division 1), Florida Tech(Division 2)
  Pro Experience:
  2020: Franken Knights (GFL)
  2021: Albany Empire (National Arena League)
  2022: Mexico City Rojos (FAM League-LFA)
  2022: Paderborn Dolphins (GFL)

My greatest Accomplishment was winning GFL2 Championship with Paderborn Dolphins last season.

What do you expect from next season?

• What I expect from next season: A Championship.

What do you know about Finland?

• I know that Finland is a very happy Country and I look forward to experiencing it.

• The fans can expect someone who is going to leave it all out on the field.
